MEET THE TEAM
Amanda: Executive Director
Amanda is a native of Detroit, MI but met her husband and raised her 2 kids in Louisville, KY. She now calls Port St. Joe her home - It's her "little piece of heaven." Her home is filled with 3 rescue fluffers: Callie Ann, Maverick and Wilson. Oh, and her husband, Monte. Amanda is thrilled to be working with the great staff at SJBHS and her personal mission is to educate the public on preventing heartworm disease.
Kylie: Medical Coordinator/Office Manager
Kylie was born in Pennsylvania and moved down to Port St Joe when she was 12 years old. Growing up on a lake and in farm country Kylie had a love for animals from a young age, growing up with dogs, cats, snakes, birds, and the occasional chipmunk. She helps ensure all the dogs and cats in our care are taken to the vet for surgeries and plans all the appointments for them.
Natasha: Manager of Kennel Techs/Treatment Tech
Natasha was born and raised in Labelle, FL and moved to PSJ, her husband’s hometown in August of 2019. Natasha ensures all of our pets are healthy and happy, and keeps our staff laughing. She has worked with animals for over 15 years, both exotic and domestic. She loves to read and visit the beach in her free time with her 3 dogs, Hank, Zeus and Dixie, and 2 cats, Kenzie and Bell!
Caitlin: Adoption Coordinator
Caitlin is a native of PSJ with her family living here over 9 generations. She is a graduate of The University of Alabama, earning a B.S. in Psychology. Caitlin coordinates our adoptions, foster program, and volunteer program, as well as doing our social media and marketing. Caitlin has a passion for bully breeds in particular, and is owned by a pitbull/lab mix named Chopstick.
Katie has been a Port St. Joe native her whole life. She has always been obsessed with animals. She likes them way more than people. She grew up around hounds and has a soft spot for the breed. She spent her days as a child watching animal planet and believing that she could talk to cats. She works so her Walker/Beagle mix Ollie and her clowder of cats can have a great life.
Lindsay: Kennel Technician
Lindsay is from Wewahitchka, FL and has worked at the humane society for 5 years. She graduated from Wewahitchka High School. She has two dogs, Luna a lab/Pitbull mix, and Dixie, a dachshund. You can always find Lindsay cheering on her favorite football team, Florida State.
Maree: Kennel Technician
Maree is from Lake Charles, LA and moved to Wewahitchka in 2012. She is married to her high school sweetheart and has 3 beautiful children. Maree has a passion for canine behavior and greatly assists in creating play groups for all of our pets. She adopted her beautiful catahoula, Callie, from SJBHS shortly after being employed.
Laurie: Kennel Technician
Laurie grew up in Evansville, IN. She received her Bachelor's in Psychology from the University of Southern Indiana. While in college she was a part of the Baptist Student Union. Laurie met her husband, Kurtis, on a bus headed for New Mexico. She loves traveling, art and board/card games. She moved to Wewahitchka in 2014 where she lives with her 7 cats: Tuco, Monkey, Ellie, Mowgli and Borris, Hector and Yoshi whom she adopted from SJBHS.
Travis: Maintenance/Kennel Technician
Travis is a lifelong resident of Port St. Joe. He previously worked in manufacturing and started out at SJBHS doing lawn care. He did such a great job that he now works here part-time. Travis loves to fish and he is a very talented artist. He sells his acrylic canvas paintings at the local Farmer's Market.
