| Thanks to the generous support of our community, 2007 was an exciting year for SJBHS. Our new facility was completed in May and is open to the public Tuesday- Saturday from 10-4. Please come by to visit and consider how you might help. While adoption is the ultimate goal, volunteers are always appreciated and donations provide the lifeblood of this organization.
The 2007 Bow Wow Bash was a wonderful success and has been an asset in several ways. In addition to the community awareness cultivated through the run, Paws in the Park and the evening event, a significant amount of money was raised. These funds have been applied to meet our operating budget, purchase Kurunda beds for each run, supply additional fencing for the exercise area, and to purchase water bottles and other supplies for the animals. Additionally, a Certificate of Deposit was purchased for an emergency fund. The other goal achieved by this fundraiser was the establishment of a Spay/Neuter Program. An application form has been developed and arrangements have been made to work with Dr. Bayez and his staff at the Agape Animal Hospital in Wewahitchka. Applications and further information are available at the shelter. Currently, we are seeking applicants for a Shelter Manager. Please click this link for the Job Description. We are able to offer our customers the opportunity to purchase Frontline flea protection at a discounted price with part of each purchase going to help protect our clients as well. |
